Stiby Backe - Nature reserve

Stiby backe is located next to Hällevik in Listerlandet and has an area of ​​110 hectares. In the southwest, the reserve borders the Listerlandet cycle path. There are three parking lots to start from. The northern parking lot to the reserve is located approximately 2.6 km from Mjällby along Hälleviksvägen in a southeasterly direction. The second parking lot can be found along Stibyvägen and the third is at Backsippevägen towards Listerkyrkan. When traveling by car, it is recommended to take exit 47 from the E22 towards Hällevik via Hälleviksvägen towards Mjällby along Mjällbyvägen.

Follow the road for approximately 5.7 km to Stibyvägen and continue straight ahead for approximately 400 meters and the northern parking lot is on the right. The southwestern parking lot is reached by turning right onto Stibyvägen and following it for approximately 1.4 km. The nature reserve has embankments that are between 31-48 meters above sea level. The highest point is 70 meters and provides a fantastic view of the surrounding areas.

The shore walls consist mainly of sand material and on the eastern side there are also beach humps. The geological values ​​and the structure of the land are an important part of the fauna and flora found in the area. The area consists of several different habitat types, such as dry meadows, oak and beech forests and hornbeam stands as well as both heath and meadow types. In the nature reserve, there is, among other things, abundant ivy that covers large areas. There are also yellow sedge, violet, orchids and lark. The rich supply of habitat types and the specific structure of the nature reserve make it an important place for fauna that is not found in other areas. The changing habitat types, the view and the location in relation to its surroundings make Stiby backe an attractive recreational area. Its proximity to Hällevik and the Listerlandet cycle path creates a natural attraction for those who want to enjoy beautiful nature. Within the nature reserve there are hiking and riding trails that create good accessibility for recreation and outdoor activities. The areas are marked to provide information for visitors.
