Beskrivning
Siesjö is located in the southwestern part of the municipality, approximately 2.7 km from the center of Sölvesborg. By using the cycle path that runs along Kämpaslättsvägen, you can cross the E22 and reach Ynde byväg and thus reach the parking lot for Siesjö. From here, you can then begin your hike around Siejö's hiking trails. Accessibility along the hiking trails varies and only 1000 meters is accessible and the remaining 2100 meters is a hiking trail. From Siesjö, you can travel about two kilometers east and reach Ryssbergets Nature Reserve where you can continue your hike. The Banvallsleden trail that stretches from Sölvesborg to Olofström also passes by in contact with the nature reserve. The trail provides the opportunity to take a bike from Sölvesborg in the south to Olofström in the north. On its 29 km long journey, the Banvallsleden passes Näsum and Jämshög before finally reaching Olofström. Adjacent to Siesjö are both the Nature School's outdoor educational activities and the Yndegården hostel.
Siesjö nature reserve is rich in flora and fauna. Here, you can see, among other things, the reed warbler, grey heron, wigeon and coot. During winter, it is also possible to see white-tailed eagles in the area. There is also a great wealth of plants in the lake, including marsh horsetail, sword lily and kabbeleka. Most of the lake is bordered by reeds and cottonwood. The area consists of both alder-dominated coastal forest, broadleaf forest and open fields. As the area is rich in animal and plant life, several red-listed species can be found here. Approximately 750 meters from the Siesjö nature reserve's parking lot is Ynde village, which is a well-preserved 19th-century village with connections to Trolle Ljungby estate.
