The Hjärthalla Nature Reserve is a scenic and walk-friendly area located on the southern part of one of Listerlandet's remaining mountains.

Hjärthalla Nature Reserve is located in the southern part of Listerlandet and is a scenic recreation area. In the southwest, the nature reserve borders the Listerlandet cycle path. Hjärthalla is located 7 km from the center of Sölvesborg.The area is covered with beech forest and next to the reserve's mountains there are species-rich natural pastures. The large availability of different natural environments contributes to the high biodiversity of the area. The area has fauna and flora that are very worthy of protection and is dominated by deciduous forest. The nutritional value of the soil varies greatly and provides opportunities for the survival of several different species. Blown-down trees are an important part of allowing several types of fungi to thrive in the area. The old dead wood that is found there is also important for various insects to thrive and survive in the area. Dry meadows and heathland are also home to several species that need these typical biotopes to survive. The nature reserve's varied nature creates the conditions for a good diversity of both fauna and flora. The area has a good environment for recreation and is a destination well worth visiting.
Hjärthalla Nature Reserve has a rich cultural history that stretches back to 2,400 BC. Within the nature reserve there are registered Stone Age settlements from the early Neolithic period. The area was once located near the shore of the Littorina Sea, which is now 10 meters above sea level. On the top of the mountain there is a stone settlement from the Bronze Age or Early Iron Age, around 500 BC. The land was used for several centuries and traces are still visible today, including the felling of some old deciduous trees in the area.
