The island of Hanö just off Listerlandet has a varied nature and high geological values.
Beskrivning
The island is located just east of Nogersund and Listershuvud in Listerlandet. Recommended directions are via the E22, exit 47 towards Mjällby, along Hälleviksvägen until you reach Nogersund. From there, take the ferry to Hanö. Hanö has a long history and has several myths and legends about it. Every year, the island is visited by approximately 30,000 visitors and is an important part of the tourism industry in the area.The northern part of the island consists of thin moraine land, overgrown with velvety, rolling grass. The island also has the English cemetery, which is a sad and beautiful memory from the Napoleonic Wars. Along the coast you can find bathing areas and there are also several hiking trails, some of which are accessible. For those staying longer, there is the possibility of staying overnight at the hostel and there is also a restaurant in the summer. The Hanö hiking trail is approximately 5.1 km long and is estimated to take approximately 3 hours as most of the route is difficult to access. There are several attractions on the island, one of which is Hanö lighthouse, where you get a unique view in all directions.
