The Stentofte stone from the early 6th century in the armory of St. Nicolai Church is one of the strangest rune stones in Blekinge.
Beskrivning
The one on was found in a field (“Stentoften”) in 1823 on the highway to Sölve.The inscription is difficult to decipher. One interpretation reads:
“The settlers, the newcomers gave Hathuwolf a present, showered Hariwolf with wealth. This is a deep secret. Here I have hidden deep secrets, Unbridled in anger, dead to the gills that this destroys”.
