Old streets, contemporary art, coffee and cake, and a park shaped by centuries of spa history. Follow this day out through Ronneby, from Bergslagen’s wooden houses to the gardens of Ronneby Brunnspark. If the season and your travel plans allow, finish beside the sea.
Planning your day: The town centre stops can be combined on foot. Treat the times below as a guide and check opening hours before setting off. Ekenäs and Karön make an optional final stop.
09:30 – Start in Ronneby’s oldest neighbourhood
Begin in Bergslagen, where narrow streets wind between wooden houses and old stone walls. Take Munktrappan up towards Heliga Kors Church, then wander back through the historic streets towards the river and the waterfall. Bergslagen is a lived-in neighbourhood, so please respect private courtyards.
The church has medieval origins and wall paintings. Go inside if it is open; the streets and buildings are worth the walk even when it is closed.
Look out for: the changing rooflines, details on the wooden houses and views towards Ronnebyån.

Around 11:00 – Make time for contemporary art
Head to Kulturcentrum Ronneby konsthall for contemporary art in the former Kockums enamel works. Exhibitions change during the year, so see what is on and check opening hours before adding this stop to your route.
Allow: around an hour, depending on the exhibition.

Around 12:30 – Stop for lunch or fika
Make your way towards Brunnsparken and stop at Café Mandeltårtan for lunch, coffee or something sweet. In Sweden, fika means taking time out for coffee and a bite to eat. Check the café’s opening hours and menu before your visit.
If it is closed or you would rather eat in the centre, find more cafés and restaurants in Ronneby.
14:00 – Slow down in Ronneby Brunnspark
Spend the afternoon among the gardens, old trees and wooden buildings of Ronneby Brunnspark. Ronneby’s spa history began with a spring identified in 1705; today, the park is a place to walk and explore at your own pace.
Start near Brunnshallarna, continue past Direktörsvillan and the waterfall, then choose a path through the gardens and woodland. If you have more time, visit Naturum Blekinge when it is open.
Allow: roughly 1½–2½ hours, depending on how far you walk.
