Welcome to Blekinge’s wilderness for a close encounter with the king of the forest! Räntemåla is located between Eringsboda and Backaryd. Explore the farm and its beautiful surroundings; guided tours are offered daily in July and August at 5:00 p.m.
Beskrivning
At Räntemåla Gård, we let the moose be as wild as possible. Therefore, we do not take you as a visitor into the enclosure, we do not drive with any carriages or let our guests walk freely along our large fences. We want as far as possible to let the moose be wild and decide for themselves if and when they want to show up.
Please note that dogs are not allowed in the moose park.
Guided tour
Every day at 17.00 we show our moose, and there is always someone coming. Sometimes you have to wait a long time, and be patient. Just like in the wild.
For about 1 hour, the moose stay around and eat, and then give you the opportunity see them up close, while you get to hear the story about Räntemåla, the moose and their lives.
Visiting Räntemåla Farm means slowly making your way deeper into the forest, along winding gravel roads where the landscape shifts, passing sparkling lakes, dark woodlands, and open fields. The journey itself is an adventure, and when you step out of the car, you’re greeted by a setting that offers both history and a natural experience.
The farm dates back to the 16th century, and the small cottage on the hill—Krämarepellen’s cottage—evokes from when Räntemåla was a trading center on the old national border to Denmark. Here you can take a short walk before the tour and feel the presence of history in the ground beneath your feet.
But it is the moose that are the stars of the farm. Every afternoon at 5 p.m., visitors gather at the feeding area, where the moose—curious, calm, and free to choose when they want to approach—often come so close that you can feed them yourself. Some are social and seek contact, while others stay more in the background. The guided tour lasts about an hour and offers both close encounters and stories about the moose’s lives, the farm’s history, and the work behind the park.
What makes Räntemåla Gård unique is its respect for the animals. Here, no cars drive through the enclosures, and no visitors walk along the fences—everything happens on the moose’s terms, in a large enclosure with forest, ponds, and natural vegetation. This creates a peaceful, authentic, and almost magical atmosphere where you can encounter the moose as close to their natural behavior as possible.
Räntemåla Farm is more than a moose park—it’s a journey through nature, history, and genuine encounters.
