Sölvesborgs railway station has a special architecture and has been classified as a heritage building.
Beskrivning
The building was designed by architect C. F. Flinkenberg. When the eastbound line was completed in 1886, it was found that the station building was too far from the new line. The old station building was converted into residential buildings in 1904. The building was demolished in 1963. A new station building was not completed until 1899, this time based on drawings by Folke Zettervall (1862-1955).The station building was declared a state monument in 1986 by the National Heritage Board. When the state sold the land to the municipality in 1992, the building became a monument under the Cultural Heritage Act.
