Sölvesborg and Listerlandet — coastal days
Start in western Blekinge for harbour strolls and time by the sea. For an island outing, look into the boat from Nogersund to Hanö and check the walking routes before you travel.

Olofström — forest and freshwater
Head inland for woodland walks around Halen. Plan a route with a lakeside picnic stop, or find the designated dog swimming area for a dip along the way.

Karlshamn — lakes and island outings
Use the area around Karlshamn to combine walks near Långasjön with a separately planned trip into the archipelago. Let the weather and boat timetable shape your day.

Walk Blekinge at your dog’s pace

A short woodland loop with plenty of sniffing stops can be just as rewarding as a longer walk. Choose your route by distance, terrain and your dog’s stamina, and take drinking water for you both.

 

Blekingeleden: choose a section for the day

Blekingeleden is approximately 270 kilometres long, divided into 15 stages. Pick a manageable section rather than planning around the full trail.

Check where the route starts and finishes: a stage is not necessarily a circular walk. Plan your return journey and check facilities before setting off.

Tjärö: island paths and a pause by the water

Plan your outward and return sailings first, then leave time for a walk and a rest on the island. Dogs must be kept on a lead on Tjärö.

Leads and wildlife

From 1 March to 20 August, dogs must be prevented from running loose in areas where wildlife is present. In practice, this almost always means using a lead.

Keep your dog under control throughout the year and check the rules for each nature reserve. Give grazing animals plenty of space.

A lakeside stay does not automatically mean dogs are allowed on the nearest bathing beach. Choose a designated dog swimming area and check local signs before going into the water.

Around Halen in Olofström, there is a designated area shared by dogs and horses. Allow space for other animals and their owners.

Take your dog on public transport

Plan the whole journey, including the walk from the stop to your destination and the last connection home.

Blekingetrafiken generally allows up to two pets per passenger free of charge, provided they do not inconvenience other passengers. Keep your dog on a lead or in a suitable carrier, use the designated area and keep seats free.

Stop for lunch together

Before choosing a café or restaurant, ask where dogs are welcome: indoors, on the terrace or in a particular seating area.

On Tjärö, dogs are welcome on the restaurant’s glass veranda and wooden deck. Mention your dog when booking a table.

Pack a water bowl and a familiar mat. If your dog prefers more space, a picnic stop may make for a more restful lunch.

Blekinge’s archipelago adds another kind of walk to your holiday: a boat journey, a landing stage and a path leading away from the harbour.
