Brötalyckornas Naturreservat - Nature Reserve

Nature reserve south of Sölvesborg near Valjeviken, which mostly consists of beech forest.

Beskrivning

The nature reserve is located in the western part of the municipality, approximately 2.5 km from the center of Sölvesborg. Via Herrgårdsvägen, you turn left onto Brötalyckevägen to reach the reserve. In connection with the reserve, you pass the Sölvesborgsleden trail and 700 meters north of it is Valje nature reserve.

The Brötalyckorna nature reserve is approximately 2 hectares in size and consists mainly of beech forest. Oak and broadleaf forests are also found in the area, which together create the conditions for the rich biotope in the area. Other plants found here are white sedge, ivy and large rams. The lichen flora is rich in the area and the red-listed species gray scaly lichen, pink scaly lichen and pin-clutter lichen are found here. There are also red-listed insect fauna that are dependent on the prevailing natural biotope.

The nature reserve has a long cultural-historical background that has shaped the landscape throughout history and contributed to creating a unique environment for flora and fauna in the area. Today, the same cultural and historical site continues to preserve and strengthen biodiversity through the habitats of several red-listed and endangered species. Dead wood and dead trees of various types and sizes form the basis of the favorable habitat in the area.
