The building of The Fredrik's church started in 1720 after drawings from the most famous architect at that point in Sweden, Nicodemus Tessin the younger. In the spring of 2018, the church was reinvented after extensive renovation. The church is now one of the most modern in Sweden.
It took almost 24 years before the baroque church was inaugurated in the presence of the Swedish Crown Prince Adolf Fredrik. The church got its name from the King Fredrik I. The church is situated in the heart of Karlskrona, on the big town square. Most famous is the church for its beautiful chime with 35 bells that plays 3 times a day.
