The archipelago in Karlshamn is the country's southernmost, an archipelago that stretches from the western municipal border to Sweden's southeast corner.
Beskrivning
The archipelago in Karlshamn is known as "Hällaryd archipelago" and consists of around 500 scenic islets and islands of various sizes with rocky or cliff beaches, deciduous forests, and meadows.Archipelago boats depart from Karlshamn city center, Matvik, and Järnavik. You can travel to the islands of Tärnö, Tjärö, Joggesö, Ekö, Östra Bokö and Fölsö with regular service. Tjärö operates its own boat between Järnavik and Tjärö.
Furthest to the east lies the gem of Tjärö, a real archipelago idyll. There are various accommodation options here, such as hotels, cottages and hostels. There are also opportunities for various activities, such as renting kayaks, canoes, paddleboards, pedal boats and sauna boat. There is also a boules court and an outdoor gym. Tjärö has both a restaurant and a café (the only place serving food in the Karlshamn archipelago).
Tärnö has hiking trails and the country's oldest wooden lighthouse, which is still in operation. From the island's highest point, Drakaberget, you can see more than half of Blekinge's coastline. Bring a picnic basket if you plan to stop at Tärnö (no serving at the island).
The boat also stops at the fortress island Kastellet, just a five-minute boat ride from the city center. Travels to Kastellet during the early and late season is free of charge.
During high season, you can also take a boat to Eriksberg's nature reserve.
Tickets can be purchased on board the boat. You can pay by card, cash or Swish.
