This summer, Wämöparken is offering children and young people activities such as an art workshop, circus school, walking theatre and other fun activities.

During the summer holidays, there will be free cultural activities for children and young people in Wämöparken. The activities will be based on the main stage, the dance floor.Below you will find the summer programme. It may be updated during the summer, so keep an eye out.
JUNE
Week 26
WEDNESDAY 25 JUNE: #alldraw - creative workshop
Art workshop - Everyone draws 2025 with artist Mattias Olsson
Come and draw together with artist and children's book illustrator Mattias Olsson
Location: Dansbanan in Wämöparken, main stage
Time: 12.00-16.00, drop-in
For children and young people from 7 years and up. Teenagers welcome.
Fantasy animals & watercolours
From secret boxes, word labels are drawn to form new imaginary animals in the water town. First you sketch your imaginary animals, then you draw carefully and paint with watercolours on watercolour paper. Finally, you could use some white acrylic paint and paint flashes in the water.
Great colours and good brushes are promised.
Who knows, maybe there will be a break in the middle with a secret drawing exercise.

FRIDAY 27 JUNE: Try your hand at rope making
Become a rope maker for a day
Place: Dance floor in Wämöparken, main stage
Time: 14.00-16.00
Rope making is a craft with a strong connection to Karlskrona's maritime heritage. In the naval city, it was long a natural part of everyday life - today it is an important part of our intangible cultural heritage.
Come to Wämöparken and meet rope makers from the Shipyard History Association who will show you how it's done. Try it yourself, learn more and become part of the future of the craft.

Week 27:
TUESDAY 1 JULY: Children's dance with Happy Dance
Dance during the summer holidays - joy and new friends
Location: Dance floor in Wämöparken, main stage
Time:
10.00-10.40, 4-6 years (younger children can participate with parental support)
11.00-11.40, 7-9 years old
14.00-15.00, 10-12 years old
Welcome to a fun dance activity where children can let loose to great music, meet new friends and have fun together. Everyone is welcome - and those who are shy are welcome to bring a parent.
You'll try out different dance games and learn a simple and fun choreography together as a group. The dance is led by a warm and experienced leader, Erika Lundby from Happy Dance, who makes sure that everyone feels safe and gets to experience the real joy of dancing.
Each session is adapted to the age of the children. A very warm welcome.
FRIDAY 4 JULY: Film screening, crafts and other children's activities
Watch a film on the big screen, do arts and crafts and prepare for Sweden's European Championship women's football match
Location: Dance floor in Wämöparken, main stage
Time:
15.00-18.00 - Crafts with reuse artist Helena Fridarp.
15.30 - Film screening of Little Zlatan and Uncle Raring. Children allowed. Duration 1 hour and 21 minutes.
18.00 - Screening of Sweden's opening match against Denmark in the European Women's Football Championship

Week 28:
MONDAY 7 JULY: Music creation workshop
Try your hand at creating digital music with Creative Beats!
Location: Dance floor in Wämöparken, main stage
Time: 13.00-16.00
Try creating music with digital tools. Synthesiser, computers, ipads, phones, dj:ing and more can take you far in your music creation. Musik i Blekinge's production Creative Beats is on site with lots of exciting music equipment that you can try. Maybe it will be a song, a soundscape or you just have fun with sound.
All ages are welcome. No pre-registration required.
FRIDAY 11 JULY: Magic Circus and Circus School
A mini festival for the whole family with Funnybones Production!
Location: Dansbanan in Wämöparken, main stage
Time:
11.00 am - The Magic Circus performance is played. Duration: 40-45 minutes.
13.00 - Circus Taster session. Open to all! Duration: 45-60 minutes.
At 14.30 - The Magic Circus show is performed. Duration: 40-45 minutes.
About Magic Circus
With new, exciting and funny acts for this summer's tour, Magic Thor and Miss Monette mix magic, humour, juggling, verbal graffiti and physical comedy with improvisation. As a finale, Miss Monette gets the audience involved in a rousing guitar and drum number with Magic Thor. Magic Thor or Thorsten Andreassen was one of the founders of Gycklargruppen in the 80s, who are considered the pioneers of Swedish contemporary circus. Miss Monette or Åsa Wallberg has a long background in theatre both as an actor and director. Since 2018, Thorsten and Åsa have been working as a duo, both on stage and behind the scenes with the production company Funnybones Production, which has created the summer concept Magisk Cirkus and tours around Sweden.
Performance length: 40-45 minutes
About ‘Cirkus Prova-På’
Cirkus Prova-på is an incredibly popular attraction that attracts both children and adults. For 60 minutes, the audience gets to try out different circus disciplines such as juggling with balls, cones and rings, riding a unicycle. This is an activity that plants a seed for children and young people and creates an interest in circus.
Week 29:
TUESDAY 15 JULY: Crafts and hobby horse jumping
Do arts and crafts with recycling artist Helena or jump Wämöparkens hobby horse obstacle course
Place: On and in front of the dance floor in Wämöparken
Time: 13.00-16.00

WEDNESDAY 23 JULY: Walking theatre with Teater Carpa
See Trollbunden - an exciting and fun performance about going your own way
Location: Wämöparken, start in front of the dance floor
Time: The show is performed twice, at 11.00 and 14.00.
Duration approx. 45 minutes.
The performance is a walking theatre, which means that you as an audience can follow the actors on an adventure and experience theatre in a completely new way. The best possible age is 6-11 years, but of course everyone is welcome.
‘When Julia and her best friend are given the task of chasing away the toddlers from the forbidden part of the summer camp, they soon discover that the place harbours a dark and inexplicable secret. Something ancient has awoken, a dangerous creature that now moves freely among them. Soon panic sets in, camp leaders suddenly start disappearing, and the search for the truth quickly turns into a fight for survival.’
