Canoeing on Ivösjön and Holjeån
The northeastern part of lake Ivösjön offers canoeing both in the lake and in the river Holjeån. Here you can find several uninhabited islands where you can live like Robinson Crusoe for a day, or even longer. There are also lots of bays and beaches that you can visit by canoe. There is no problem finding your own little bay where you can stay completely undisturbed. On several of the islands there’s access to barbecue, benches and information boards.
BeskrivningDay trips in Holjeån starts at Västanå mill in Näsum and ends at our center in Axeltorp. The trip takes about 5 hours including breaks for picnics, swimming and sunbathing. You paddle about half the time in the river and the other half in the lake.
For those who only wish to paddle in the river it is possible to exit at the marina just after the river flows into the lake. We then pick up the canoe for an extra cost. You get a map and route description both of the lake and river.
Here you can easily book a canoe for a day. Price is for two people, paddles and life jackets included. Do you want to be more people in the canoe there are extra seat and a lifejacket for rent.
