An exciting story about Karlskrona municipality's coastal landscape. Thanks to drone technology, today it is possible to illustrate many landscapes in a new way.
Professor Urban Emanuelsson touches on themes such as the varying sea level since the Ice Age, communications along the coast and military facilities all the way back to the Viking Age.
A large part of the lecture will be about how we obtained food from the landscape, for example through fishing, but not least through agriculture and grazing. The variations have been many and the tracks are in the landscape, these tracks become extra clear with the help of drone pictures.
Underwater vegetation along the coast will be mentioned, and an attempt will be made to put this vegetation in relation to, among other things, human activities. Urban Emanuelsson's specialty is to explore the connections between human history and the biodiversity of the landscape.
The lecture is part of a series of five lectures that are largely based on drone photography and filming. Various themes have been selected for Blekinge's five municipalities and the lectures will be held in March 2020. For Karlskronas, the theme is "The Coast".
In collaboration with Region Blekinge and Folkuniversitetet.
