We welcome Marjolein Vermeeren back to the Swedish Navy Band. Marjolein is originally from the Netherlands and is a flutist in the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra. In addition, she is a regular guest conductor in several Swedish orchestras.
As a soloist, we see and hear Mikael Bengtsson, the band's own percussionist, perform Kjell Roikjer's “Concerto for xylophone and orchestra, Op. 34” in a brand new instrumentation for wind orchestra by percussionist Jerker Johansson.

The evening's program also offers music by Helena Munktell, Robert W. Smith and Frank Ticheli, among others. In addition, Marjolein has brought Dutch wind band music in the form of “Piet Hein Rhapsodie” by Jan van Anrooy.
